Making Magic:
Ritual in Reform Jewish Education
My rabbinic thesis applies ritual theory to the practice of Jewish education, drawing on scholarly research and field observations. In short, I conclude that ritual has three primary functions: ordering, orienting, and transforming. Educators can use rituals to meet their own goals, and adopting a "ritual form" can enrich their educational efforts.
